Removable Security Bollards

Ocean Springs, MS has joined a growing number of cities across the country to deploy removable security bollards as part of a city initiative to protect people and property from vehicle intrusions (see story here.) These intrusions range from the accidental (distracted driving, driver error, etc.), the negligent (drunk driving) and the intentional (terrorism). Unwanted vehicle incursions are on the rise nationwide. Cities that invite pedestrians for events such as street festivals, farmer's markets and other celebrations are at increased risk for such incursions. However, in the current environment all Cities need to develop a plan to protect their patrons and property.

ASTM F3016

Due to the rise in vehicle incursions, a crash test standard, ASTM F3016 was developed to determine a security device's ability to arrest a 5,000 lb. vehicle traveling at 10, 20 or 30 MPH. This standard has enabled Businesses, Cities and other Government bodies to have the confidence to select the right product for the right application and if necessary select something different altogether that meets their security challenges. Removable bollards provide one effective solution to meet many of these challenges.
