that will secure your area from unwanted vehicle traffic, while allowing authorized
vehicles to pass at will. TrafficGuard® is now available

Our 4" clearance bollard consists of ASTM-A36 TS 6" x 3"x 3/8" steel tubing, and our 5" clearance bollard consists of ASTM-A36 TS 6" x 4" x 3/8" steel tubing. Both have an end plate welded to the top with bevelled bottom corners. Two stainless steel pins, one with a 13/32" padlock hole, allows lowering to the specified clearance.

|
Our 3" clearance bollard consists of two ASTM-A36 TS 6" x 2" x 1/4" steel tubing with an end plate welded to the top with bevelled bottoms and two 3/4" x 8" stainless steel hinge pins and one 3/4" x 5" padlock pin.

DOUBLE POST SCREW LOCK (DHB SL) |
|
Our 4" clearance double post screw lock bollard consists of two ASTM-A36 TS 6" x 2" x 1/4" steel tubing with an end plate welded to the top with bevelled bottoms and two 3/4" x 8" stainless steel hinge pins. One post has an internal, stainless steel nut welded to accept the custom 1" diameter, stainless steel hex head bolt which is held in place with a stainless steel, external retaining ring (installed at the factory). This bolt has been designed to function with an adjustable water hydrant wrench as well as a traditional 1-1/4" box wrench.

BASE |
|
For single and double post bollards our base is fabricated of ASTM - A36 steel. Its dimensions are 12" x 12" x 3/8" with bevelled corners. The verticals consist of 1/2" thick steel plate welded to the 3/8" base plate. The decal plate (for single posts only) is 1/4" and welded to the backside of the vertical support.

The hinged round post (HRP) has an overall height of 30", 36" or 48". The post is 2.5" schedule 40 pipe with welded in place rounded end caps. Bottom end cap has a 1/4" diameter drain hole. Hinge pin and lock pin are 1" x 5" stainless steel with top bolt containing a 13/32" hole for a single padlock.

42" tall, 1-5/8" OD steel pipe with a welded top cap and a padlock pin. The base is 6" x 6" with a welded eye for a padlock and has two 5/8" holes to accept ground anchors. The hinge pin is 5/8" x 3" zinc plated, and the bolt and nut are factory assembled. The finish is powder coated traffic yellow.

PAINTING SPECIFICATIONS |
|
DuPont Imron® is a top-of-the-line finish. All of our bollards are surfaced in the following way: All uncoated ASTM - A36 is prepared by removing scale and slag welded by chipping, wire brushing, and then sandblasting to SSPC 6. All surfaces are primed with one coat of gray CORLAR Epoxy Primer 934S with a dry thickness of 1.0 mils. One finish of DuPont Yellow IMRON 5000 3.5 VOC Color #NO882HNW is then painted in a cross-coat fashion. Park Protect is powder coated.

DESIGN CRITERIA |
|
The Hinged Bollard is designed to release at static load (or equivalent impact load) of approximately 1,700 pounds applied at 27" above grade.
The Hinged Bollard System will release in one of the following modes: - The pin will shear and the bollard will rotate to grade.
- The expansion anchors will pull out, and the bollard base will rotate.
- The earth (dependent on strength) will yield, and the foundation will tip in rotation.
If installation conforms to the specifications and these drawings, TrafficGuard® Direct expects the release to occur in the sequence shown with the pin shear as the governing failure. Design is by a licensed engineer in the state of Illinois.
